About Us...

Nestled in the breathtaking beauty of the Western Mountains of Maine, Tim Pond Camps is the oldest set of sporting camps in New England, hosting registered guests since the mid-1800's. The present owners, Betty and Harvey Calden, have been operating the camps since the early 1980's. The pond, which has never been stocked, offers a plentiful supply of colorful native square tailed brook trout . Utilizing classic Rangeley boats and canoes, guests are free to fish the entire mile long pond in relative solitude.

Principal fishery: Brook trout
Tim Pond is located north of East Kennebago Mountain. Two small inlets enter the west side of the pond and its outlet, Tim Brook, exits the north side flowing east in the North Branch of the Dead River. The pond’s shoreline is mostly undeveloped.
Water quality in Tim Pond is good for coldwater gamefish. The pond’s tributaries have ample spawning and nursery habitat available for the native brook trout population to provide a fishery. Trout growth is good despite heavy interspecific competition. The pond is not stocked.
Tim Pond is accessible via private gated roads off the Tim Pond Road. The pond is open to fly fishing only in the summer and closed to fishing during the winter.
